Tiger Woods’ Shocking Array Of Meds When Stopped By Police

Lord I miss Tiger Woods on the golf course. He was so ridiculously good that even non-golf fans gathered around a TV anytime he teed it up. My kids only perked up when they found out Woods was playing an event.

But that time is now a spec in the rearview mirror. The only news since he last played a competitive event revolve around injuries, surgeries and police blotters. Its tough enough being a Tiger fan. I can’t imagine what its like being Tiger himself.

The ongoing travails of Woods gets stranger with every headline. The latest comes from yesterday’s toxicology report after Woods was found asleep at the wheel around 2am on May 29. Woods denied any alcohol use (his blood alcohol level was 0.00) but the report showed an inordinate amount of various drugs in his system. A ridiculous cocktail that makes one wonder how Woods got behind the wheel in the first place.

According to the report, the drugs in Woods’ system were:

  • Hydrocodone, the generic form of a painkiller branded as Vicodin.
  • Hydromorphone, a strong painkiller commonly known as Dilaudid.
  • Alprazolam, a mood and sleep drug commonly known as Xanax. (The report also listed Alpha-Hydroxy Alprazolam, which is what Xanax becomes when it breaks down in the system.)
  • Zolpidem, a sleep drug commonly known as Ambien.
  • Delta-9 carboxy THC, the active ingredient in marijuana.

It is not known if Woods had prescriptions for all of the medications. Medical marijuana is legal in Florida.

Woods said he completed a drug rehab program last month.

“As I previously said, I received professional help to manage my medications,” Woods said Monday in a statement released through a spokesman. “Recently, I had been trying on my own to treat my back pain and a sleep disorder, including insomnia, but I realize now it was a mistake to do this without medical assistance. I am continuing to work with my doctors, and they feel I’ve made significant progress. I remain grateful for the amazing support that I continue to receive and for the family and friends that are assisting me.”

It also appears Tiger has been hitting the iron hard once again after recent pics on social media. How can he be this jacked up pounding weights and not inflict more pain on his fragile frame?

In this pic, Tiger looks incredibly top heavy–almost cartoon-like.

I don’t know if we’ll ever see Woods once again compete on Tour. And if he does, he’s not showing up just to hopefully make cuts, right?

Sigh.
