Feature – LIV Golf Dallas Preview

LIV Golf made its first appearance in Dallas last year for the LIV Golf Team Championship in September. Although the weather was steamy and unseasonably warm, the event was met with solid reviews and the overall vibe was well received.

LIV Golf is back in Dallas for 2025, this time with a new (and likely steamier) date in June, but with all your favorite LIV Golf superstars. AVIDGOLFER has the lowdown on LIV’s second spin through Maridoe.

Who’s going to be in the field?

Although the field is yet to be totally finalized, you can expect the usual LIV suspects to be involved in the event. Dallas resident, world No. 10 and YouTube content king Bryson DeChambeau is expected to be in the field, leading Crushers GC alongside Paul Casey, Charles Howell III and Anirban Lahiri. In addition, expect to see Cameron Smith leading Ripper GC; Jon Rahm with Legion XIII, along with teammate Tyrrell Hatton. Dustin Johnson is also currently scheduled to appear as captain of 4Aces GC, with teammates Thomas Pieters, Patrick Reed and Harold Varner III. Team Smash will also be in the mix, led by Brooks Koepka, with Talor Gooch, Jason Kokrak and Graeme McDowell. Joaquin Niemann is also set to appear, leading Torque GC.

Where are the best spots for spectating?

Maridoe is a large piece of property, with the course sprawling across and around a large body of water. So, getting from place to place can be a bit challenging. Of course, the opening hole is a great place to take in the action, as the lead-up to the shotgun start is full of fun and hype. There is a countdown clock and LIV representatives pumping up the crowds with lots of music and energy. You can post up here and watch as every group comes through. The great news about LIV, is because it’s a shotgun start, there is no final group, so you will get to see golfers come by for the entire four hours, rather than have the field condense down to just a handful of holes as the leaders near finishing their rounds.

The par-5 second hole is also a fun place to watch tee shots. This 655-yard behemoth is a great place for the bombers to turn one loose and let it fly. Stand behind this tee to see maximum smash factor.

No. 5 is a great hole with water all down the right side and an approach that plays to a peninsula green. Although you may not see everyone hit driver here, it’s a fun approach to watch as usually this hole can get a little windy, and with water everywhere, you might see some fireworks.

No. 8, the 175-yard par 3, is another good spot to watch some tee shots, as there is always the chance to see one of the LIV superstars hit one close. The elevated putting surface can be tough to hit, but it could also provide some entertaining green-side up-and-down attempts. The “Birdie Shack” on No. 9 will be another hot spot to see the action.

On the inward nine, there are plenty of other great holes to watch. No. 11 is a whopping 248-yard par 3 surrounded by bunkers. This could make for some fun action around the green surface. The 597-yard par-5 13th will also prove to be a major hole for those in contention as they enter the final stretch.

And, of  course, the difficult 558-yard 18th will also be tough to navigate, as this massive par 4 could likely decide who hoists the individual hardware and will undoubtedly also factor into the team title. There is also the “Cocktails and Culinary Trails” ticket option that can be used on the 18th.

What’s the ticket situation?

A daily grounds pass starts at $48 and allows patrons to pick a spot on your favorite hole and see all 54 players come through. Children under 12 are free with a paid daily ticket.

Take the load off in the Oasis, your own shaded sanctuary – great for when the heat cranks up. Enjoy all the freedom of a regular grounds pass to follow the players and move with the action. It also includes free access to any post-round concerts the day you attend. Children ages four and over require a ticket to enter grounds plus viewing platforms.
