Costco Offering Refunds On Kirkland Golf Balls
The Costco Kirkland golf ball caused quite a stir a few years back as golfers flocked to the warehouse stores to grab the purported premium balls for a mere $15 per dozen. Many believed (including MyGolfSpy.com) they were as good as the industry-leading ProV1s. Even Titleist took notice by suing Costco for false advertising claims against the ProV1 and faulty quality control.
Well, as swingbyswing.com and thegolfnews.net file reports that the latest 4-piece Kirkland balls are cuttable and even “dentable.” Kudos to Costco to offer immediate refunds for those golfers who bought the latest rocks.
Anyone else remember that the Kirkland balls were actually an overrun of Taylor Mades?
Anyway, MyGolfSpy.com has a different opinion these days.
The feedback — which includes a 2.1-star user rating on Costco’s website and critical public commentary from MyGolfSpy — got back to the company, and they realized they were selling a bad product. Costco responded by doing the right thing, reaching out to customers to offer a full refund for those who purchased the four-piece balls.

As usual, it’s a buyer’s beware market. But this is where social media can be a benefit holding companies accountable for their faulty quality control.
