This Study Says Golf Is The Most Boring Sport To Watch
As an avid fan of golf, I even have to admit watching the sport on the tube isn’t always must-see-tv. Too many putts shown, too many commercials (although the new split screen showing ads and play is a notable improvement), not enough eavesdropping on player/caddie convos and too few graphics to enlighten viewers where the little white globe is going.
I always tape a golf broadcast just in case I fall asleep during the presentation and want to rewind when Twitter alerts me something special occurred. And when I switch back between golf and lets say hockey, it isn’t a contest. That is unless Tiger Woods is contending of course.
However, it does comes as a surprise that golf led every other sport in most boring to watch by the Brits–-a group that boasts about its golf prowess. Stephen Hennessey from GolfDigest.com has the details.
What is the most boring sport?
Golf – 70% who have ever watched it find boring
American Football – 59%
Cricket – 58%
Darts – 58%
Snooker – 57%https://t.co/eJughVrwa0 pic.twitter.com/izb7Pi0mE3— YouGov (@YouGov) January 10, 2018
At least the NFL is in second place. If I was asked, cricket, darts and snooker would be farrrrrr above of golf as the sport I’d need toothpicks in my eyes to force watch.
So, there’s that.
