Tony Finau’s High And Low Of Making An Ace Before Dislocating His Ankle
The likable Tour player Tony Finau endured maybe the wildest consecutive incidents in recent golf memory. Yesterday at the popular Par-3 Contest, Finau scored an ace on the 7th hole. Of course he was excited and celebrated by running towards to green.
Yet in a matter of moments, Tony crumpled to the ground as his left ankle horribly turned.
An even more shocking view ensued as Finau nonchalantly reached down and put his foot back in place!
View the tape below–but be aware it ain’t pretty. Yikes!
More amazing still is he finished the last two holes before seeking medical attention. An X-Ray last night showed no break and the MRI diagnosis this morning led Tony to enter today’s first round. Its a hilly course with countless uneven lies, so we’re hoping for the best.
I’ve never had a hole-in-one. But I’m also not sure getting one but suffering a dislocated ankle is worth it either.
Best advice for all is be careful when going bonkers over an ace. Yes, even at Augusta National.
