Romo To Make Debut In CBS Broadcasting Blazer This Weekend

Well, here we go. Okay, its not a full-blown appearance for Tony Romo as a golf analyst (as some had rumored) but a guest shot according to CBS golf exec-producer Lance Barrow during the Colonial this weekend. Romo will wear the CBS blazer for the first time for us to see.

“This weekend for the first time ever he will be in the announce booth at 18 for a few moments. And it will be the first time that he will have the CBS Sports blazer on and he will be introduced as our newest addition to CBS Sports, right here at Colonial,” Lance Barrow said. “I think he is going to be great. I think we have the next John Madden on our hands.”

Barrow then asked the crowd to keep the news under wraps.

“Please don’t tweet that or any of that, it’s supposed to be a surprise,” he said.

Whoa there sir. Isn’t there already enough public scrutiny ready to hammer Tony’s on-air talents without his boss predicting an iconic broadcasting legacy? Still, it will draw some additional eyeballs this weekend so why not trot out Romo so close to home. Got to start earning your pay at some point, right?
