Friday Fun Facts is back. Today we start with highlighting Colin Morikawa’s fast rise from 1000th ranked to top-50 care of Twitter’s Nosferatu.

@collin_morikawa became the 5th fastest golfer since the inception of #OWGR to climb from outside the top 1000, to the top 50 in the world rankings. He needed 36 weeks to achieve that. That’s twice faster than Rory, but twice slower than Ben Curtis…

Next up is how a course set up can definitely negate the distance controversy care of caddie Paul Tesori.

Club De Golf Chapultepec is 7,333 yards from the back plates. At 7,800 feet altitude, the course plays 12.5% shorter. That makes the course 6,416 yards effective. Today, the field @WGCMexico was 100+ over par. Also, no rough! Please @USGA @PGATOUR take notice. Its course design!

Finally, another telling stat that scoring averages haven’t moved much no matter the better equipment, longer distance or player fitness care of Andrew Stephens.

1990- 71.24
1995- 71.28
2000-71.25
2005-71.12
2010-70.95
2015-71.03
2019- 71.00

I'd love to hear the arguments that golf is too easy for the tour player, courses are obsolete, skill is out of the game, etc. Optics vs Data folks.
