Bubble Trouble–Who Made It And Who Didn’t For BMW Championship

FedEx Cup playoffs are alive and doing okay I guess. The Tour continues to change the format (expect yet another new tweak next season)

The Dell Technologies event pared the playoff field down to 70 for this week’s BMW Championship. Here are the biggest winners and losers after Sunday as reported by The Tour’s Mike McAllister

The most frustrated has to be Ryan Moore, who finished 71st on the list–a scant 2.8 points outside the line–essentially one measly shot. He needed Abraham Ancer to 3-putt the final hole (he made a cool two-putt from a precarious portion of the green) to enter the BMW in Chicago.

Here are the players who busted the bubble and moved inside the top 70.

C.T. Pan (T4): From 72 to 33
Tyrrell Hatton (T12): From 71 to 54
Abraham Ancer (T7): From 92 to 56
Brice Garnett (T12): From 81 to 63
Peter Uihlein (T12): From 83 to 64
Keith Mitchell (20): From 78 to 66

Here are the players who fell out of the top 70 and saw their seasons end:

Ryan Moore (T71): From 60 to 71
Whee Kim (75): From 61 to 72
Stewart Cink (T62): From 65 to 73
Nick Watney (T62): From 67 to 74
Jimmy Walker (T71): From 68 to 75
Kevin Streelman (MC): From 70 to 77

Notable streaks came to a close for a pair of veterans as seasons ended for both Matt Kuchar (76th) and Charley Hoffman (79th). Kuchar had made the Tour Championship each of the last eight years, while Hoffman had made the BMW Championship every year of the FedExCup era (since 2007). Hoffman’s exit leaves one lone Tour member below as the only player to qualify for the BMW every year of the playoffs.
